Our main mission at the Akron Fossil and Real Science Center is to convince the uninitiated that evolution is poo, that the Earth is 6,000 years old, and that the Bible has all the science you need to know! Forget the notion that science as a discipline wasn't even invented until centuries AFTER all the scriptures had been written. In our world, that doesn't matter one bit! Below is a smattering of the type of REAL science and other educational stuff you will get if you come to a wonderful creation museum like ours! These photos are actually from another creationist museum in Copley, Ohio, but are definitely the types of exhibits we would like to have in ours, once we get as sophisticated as they are!
Did you know that the Earth is slowing down as we speak? Some will say that the rate of slowing is miniscule and has had little effect on the length of a day over the millennia. However, we at the Akron Fossil and Real Science Center have made our OWN calculations and have found that if the Earth was REALLY 4.5 billion years old, it would have been rotating SO fast that it would have shot all the dinosaurs into space! No, REALLY! We have a reenactment below, which we hope you will be able to see with your OWN eyes when you come to our happy place!
Those pesky scientists want you to believe the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. They say they have multiple lines of evidence (e.g., radioactive decay, statigraphic evidence, and fossil records) that prove the Earth is ancient. Well, we creationist have debunked this evidence and would like to show you some of our scientifically valid arguments below!
Above is one of the scientifically rigorous arguments we have come up with to disprove and ancient Earth. We spend HOURS thinking this stuff up, and you have to admit, it is pretty good! I mean, where is the topsoil? Can't get too much more scientific than that, eh? Take that, Stephen J. Gould!
Another good one we creationists have thought up is about the Grand Canyon. Anyone who has been to the Grand Canyon knows why it is called that - because it is GRAND! From the gut, you can just LOOK at it and know that it couldn't be carved out by a little ol' river! I mean, come on! Below is our brand of SCIENTIFIC argument for why the Grand Canyon was formed by a great flood! All you have to know is that the Earth has never changed (like there are nothing like earthquakes that can uplift the Earth) and that river volumes have never been higher than they are now! Once those pesky details are wiped away in your mind, then our brand of arguments are just the BEST!
There is just PLENTY of evidence that humans and dinosaurs coexisted! We have FOOT PRINTS of dinosaurs and "human-like" creatures in the same place! Some people suggest that these footprints are not real. Others say that if humans and dinosaurs coexisted, we would have a LOT more than just a few footprints of the two in the same spots, but would rather have found LOTS of evidence that bones of both in the same sections of fossil rock. Those same people suggest that the rocks with the dinosaur bones are ~65 million years older than the rocks with human bones. Of course we can discount this out of hand because we know the Earth is only 6,000 years old in the first place! So, we stand by our claim that the tracks are more telling than the whole BONES thingy!
When creation REAL scientists find a mistake in the published records, we do NOT hesitate to correct it! Such a situation happened in perusing a publication about ancient bacteria: the publication misstated that the bacteria were 13,000 years old. WRONG! We know that the bacteria were only 200 years old, so we corrected it with a marking pen!
